The search is on in Farnham for unsung heroes who deserve recognition for the great things they do for the community.
Farnham Town Council is seeking nominations for the 2016/17 Services to Farnham awards. The annual awards give thanks to people who provide an outstanding or crucial service to the community or the people of Farnham.
The Mayor of Farnham, Councillor John Ward says: “We know Farnham has many amazing individuals who do great things for the town and its people, whether it’s volunteering tirelessly to support a club or community group, working hard to look after the environment or going the extra mile to take care of local people in need. We also know that often, it’s the most dedicated who are the most modest and therefore don’t receive the recognition they deserve. The Services to Farnham awards are about the Farnham community saying ‘thank you’ properly to our local heroes.
“If you know somebody who deserves thanks for the great things they do for our community, please tell us about them by filling in a nomination form. It is quick and easy to complete,” says the Mayor.
To submit a nomination, individuals or organisations should complete the nomination form. The closing date is Monday 5 December.
All nominations will be considered by a small judging panel in December. The winners will be invited to receive their awards at a special presentation at the end of February. The awards’ medals are kindly sponsored by Sir Ray Tindle CBE DL of the Tindle News Group.
