Date/Time

Sunday 10 November 2024 - 10.00 - 11.30

Farnham’s annual Remembrance Parade and Service offers the community a moment to unite in honouring those who lost their lives while serving in the armed forces.

Members of the parade will assemble in Castle Street from 10am. The parade will depart from Castle Street at 10.25am and arrive at the war memorial for a service at 10.45am. At 11am, the town will observe a two-minute silence, followed by the sounding of the Last Post, readings, and the laying of wreaths.

After the ceremony, members of the armed forces, uniformed services, and youth organisations will participate in a march past. The Mayor of Farnham and visiting dignitaries will take the salute outside the Town Hall on South Street.

Please note that temporary road closures will be in place throughout this event. The detail of the closures are as follows:

  • 10am to 10.30am – Castle Street from Park Row to southern junction with The Borough
  • Rolling road closure from 10.20am affecting The Borough, South Street and Victoria Road. This is for the parade to leave Castle Street. This section will reopen once the parade clears the Union Road junction with South Street.
  • The South Street from junction at A31 Hickley’s Corner to junction with Union Road will be closed until noon.
  • 11.30am to 11.45am South Street at junction with Victoria Road, to allow Parade to conclude in Brightwells Road.

Farnham Town Council, in collaboration with the Royal British Legion (Farnham), is organising the event. Additional Remembrance Sunday services will be held in Badshot Lea, The Bourne, Hale, Rowledge, Weybourne, and Wrecclesham.
