Farnham Directory » Farnham Sinfonia
Farnham Sinfonia
The ethos of Farnham Sinfonia is to programme symphonies of Haydn and Mozart on modern instruments which seldom enter the current concert repertoire. This will be in combination with some 20th century British and contemporary composers whose works are still undervalued or insufficiently known. The orchestra will perform twice yearly at the Parish Church of St Andrew’s in Farnham (March / April and September / October).
Our aim is to support young professional musicians at the beginning of their careers, the wider context of our concert programme is to satisfy and extend local public demand for classical music, bringing it to a much wider demographic by making it affordable and more accessible to all. We give free entry to all our events to anyone under the age of 18 and allow others to pay what they are able by virtue of a retiring collection.
