The Farnham Visitors Forum recently met at The University for the Creative Arts – UCA in Farnham where Rebecca Skeels welcomed members.

The group now has a Facebook page which is open for anyone to join @farnhamvisitorsforum.

The Museum of Farnham advised that they would be trialling a pop up café on Thursday afternoons during the summer kids’ activities. They have also submitted an application for funding to upgrade marketing of the museum. The current exhibition, from June to September is John Henry Knight.

The Farnham Maltings have started their Summer session and there would be an afternoon tea community event on 16th September in the Tindle Studio where people can sponsor a cake.

The Farnham Society was celebrating its 70th anniversary. The Farnham public art trust guide has been printed. Plans for the Heritage Open Days 2017 are going well and the theme is Changing Faces. Buildings now and then.

Farnham Castle would also be involved this year. The Castle still operate regular walks on a Wednesday afternoon and there is now a new catering company on site.

Farnham Town Council updated members on current events, including Picnic in the Park and Music in the Meadow every Sunday. There will be a Gin Festival in September to tie in with the Food Festival. Farnham In Bloom had raised £22,000 in sponsorship money, and Farnham Town Council had raised £20,000 in sponsorship for events.

The Mayor of Farnham, Cllr John Ward, thanked the chair and said it was good to see the group develop promotions for Farnham over the last six years. The Mayor of Waverley, Cllr Simon Inchbald, found the meeting very useful and informative.
