Vote for the playground design you like best

There is still time for the community to vote for the playground they would like to see built at Gostrey Meadow.

Following a tendering exercise, Farnham Town Council appointed a playground designer. They have taken on board the findings of an initial consultation exercise carried out last summer and have come up with a choice of three designs.

Councillor Graham White, Spokesperson for Farnham Town Council says: “In response to what people told us, each design includes inclusive play items, sensory planting, water play, seating and picnic tables. Each of the options includes additional items ranging from a tower which resembles a mill in Farnham to a climbing grasshopper! Full colour designs can be seen online at www.farnham.gov.uk/playground. Please have a look and vote for the design you like best.”

Alongside the playground project, Farnham Town Council is seeking planning permission to replace the existing toilets with new climate friendly public conveniences with four new cubicles for women, two for people with disabilities and two for men plus urinals. There will also be baby changing facilities. In addition, the building will include storage for the equipment which is needed for events held at Gostrey Meadow.

The playground will be constructed in two phases so that some of the existing play equipment can continue to be available whilst the new playground is built.

The second phase will take place alongside the building of the new toilets (subject to planning permission being granted).

Phase one of the project is expected to be completed in early summer 2025.
