We all need more brightness in our lives! Come together for free workshops to celebrate Farnham a welcoming place where all can thrive.

This project invites Farnham residents to learn how to create mixed media cards to brighten somebody’s day. The ‘How Bright Can We Go?’ challenge aims to create 159 cards over a series of workshops led by artist Kate Kennington Steer. Each new Brightwell’s Yard development home will receive a card to welcome them to Farnham. Participants can also make a card to take home for someone they know while contributing to the community challenge.

Join us for a series of free workshops on:

– Farnham Folk Day, 23rd of June at Gostrey Meadow from 1 to 5 pm. – Music in the Meadow, 7th of July at Gostrey Meadow from 3 to 5 pm. – October Craft Month, 29th of October at the New Ashgate Gallery from 12 noon to 2 pm.

Kate will share techniques and tips on making and decorating cards using everyday materials, exploring combinations to wow the eye and warm the heart. Activities will include stamping, stencilling, rubbing, collage, drawing, painting, and printing. Participants will also develop creative and cognitive skills and gain a deeper understanding of disability in society through conversations with Kate.

The workshops are suitable for all ages and are ideal for families, groups of friends, and community groups. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. No previous experience is needed, and materials will be provided. No booking is required.

Organised by New Ashgate Gallery and supported by Farnham South Street Trust. We thank the DAiSY network.
