Music, food and fun is coming to Gostrey Meadow with Picnic, Proms and Pop in the Park on Sunday 26 June from 12-6pm.
“We saw in the success of the platinum jubilee Big Lunch in Gostrey Meadow how much people of all ages love to come together for an afternoon of food, community and music so we’re expecting Picnic, Proms and Pop in the Park to be popular,” says Councillor Kika Mirylees from Farnham Town Council.
Picnic, Proms and Pop in the Park takes place the day after Farnham Carnival’s Royal 70th Jubilee Party on Saturday 25 June.
Councillor Mirylees continues: “This year, to continue with the jubilee theme, there will be a hint of the Last Night of the Proms in the music, so expect plenty of rousing and energetic performances from the bandstand. We will also have more than our fair share of popular hits and household favourites so there will be something for everyone, regardless of your music tastes.”
Picnic, Proms and Pop in the Park is free to attend and is organised by Farnham Town Council. Simply bring a picnic rug or chairs and your own picnic or buy hot and cold food plus drinks from the many refreshment stalls.
This year’s sponsors include Kidd Rapinet, whose support helps fund the event.
Confirmed performers include Shuffle Tunes, Farnham Big Band, Woking Wind Orchestra, the A Train and Fabulous Funky Funks.
