Christmas Market returns to Farnham

Farnham’s Christmas Market is due to make a welcome return this year on Sunday 12 December alongside the Farmers’ Market.

Shoppers can expect there to be an emphasis on local, quality products with over 150 stalls in Castle Street, The Borough and the Conservative Club in Ivy Lane, selling gifts, crafts, accessories, Christmas items, food, drink and more with the normal farmers’ Market in Central Car Park.

Councillor Pat Evans, Lead Member for Tourism and Leisure says: “We are looking forward to welcoming people to the Farnham Christmas Market and the Farmers’ Market which is happening on the same day from 10am to 1.30pm. Taking place less than two weeks before Christmas, visitors will be able to buy finishing touches for their Yuletide feast, cheery decorations for the home and gifts for that ‘difficult to buy for person’.

“There is so much happening that I recommend people allow plenty of time for their visit so they can enjoy the live music, the mini fairground for children, live nativity and Santa’s grotto. All this has been made possible thanks to support from our Principal sponsor Farnham Veterinary Hospital and Gold sponsors Kidd Rapinet and Abbeyfield.”

With Castle Street and The Borough being closed to traffic, Farnham Town Council has arranged a free shuttle bus service to take people to and from the market. Full details of the stops can be found at www.farnham.gov.uk

The market takes place from 10am to 4pm and throughout this time many of Farnham’s town centre shops and businesses will be open and offering a warm welcome to Christmas shoppers.
