Farnham’s annual Remembrance Parade and Service will take place on Sunday 14 November.

The Remembrance parade will assemble in Castle Street from 10am with a road closure from the junction with Park Row from 10-10.30am. Alder Valley Brass will lead the Parade and provide the music for the service.

Councillor Alan Earwaker, Mayor of Farnham says: “I feel honoured to be involved in this year’s Remembrance Service and to be representing the people of Farnham. For 2021, there will be an extra special addition to proceedings which will include a rededication of the War Memorial to mark its centenary and the commemoration of the Royal British Legion which is also celebrating its centenary this year. This part of the service will be supported by the Rt Revd Dr Christopher Herbert and Brigadier Paul Evans OBE DL, President of the Royal British Legion in Surrey.”

The rededication will be followed by the Remembrance Service at the War Memorial. 

To keep people safe, an element of social distancing will be in place. Members of the public wishing to attend the service should enter Gostrey Meadow via Union Road. The service will be broadcast live so people can watch from home – details can be found at www.farnham.gov.uk.

The Remembrance Sunday parade is organised by Farnham Town Council in conjunction with the Farnham Branch of the Royal British Legion. It follows the official schools’ Remembrance Service on 12 November.

Other Remembrance Sunday services will happen in Badshot Lea, The Bourne, Hale, Rowledge, Weybourne and Wrecclesham.
