Farnham’s West Street will be the venue for an outdoor antiques and brocante market on 25 April from 10am to 4pm. The monthly Farmers’ Market will also be happening between 10am and 1.30pm in Central car park. Both markets promise to be relaxed and enjoyable shopping experiences, offering residents and visitors the chance to safely return to the town centre as lockdown restrictions continue to ease.
“We know people are itching to get out and browse, peruse and perhaps even treat themselves to something new. The outdoor antiques market is the perfect opportunity to venture out for a relaxed, social shopping experience and support our local businesses,” says Iain Lynch, the Town Clerk at Farnham Town Council.
The market promises a huge array of items including furniture, home textiles, vintage jewellery, kitchenalia, Asian art pieces, antique hand tools, upcycled metal sculpture, glass and ceramics, French brocante items including oil lamps, vinyl records, gardenalia, illustration, silver and many other quirky items.
West Street will be pedestrianised for the day so as to allow social distancing. “Lots of us are looking forward to a face-to-face shopping experience – the chance to chat to retailers and ask questions about the items on their stalls. Using West Street means stalls will be in the open air and customers will have plenty of space around them,” says Jackie Edwards of ACVR Events.
The market follows Farnham’s successful open air craft market last October and will strictly follow social distancing and hygiene rules. It is being organised by ACVR Events in partnership with Farnham Town Council. For further information, please contact Jackie Edwards at www.acvrevents.co.uk.
