Farnham is England’s first World Craft Town and to help more people discover their craftier side, the South Street Trust is inviting grant applications from organisations seeking funding for art-based educational activities.

There is around £20,000 in the South Street Trust grant pot. Successful applications will be for projects that can demonstrate they have a creative input.

In 2020/21 grants were approved for nearly 20 projects which included artist in residence schemes, an initiative to create a piece of visual and tactile art for a school wellbeing garden, craft as therapy workshops and the purchase of art equipment.

Councillor Pat Evans, chairs the South Street Trust and says: “This year, more people than ever before have taken up craft activities as a way to pass the time during lockdown.

“The South Street Trust is dedicated to enabling more people to discover their creative side and to help others develop their talents. Craft offers endless possibilities and we look forward to welcoming applications from organisations that would like to offer art-based activities that can be enjoyed as a solo activity or by the wider community.”

The closing date for submitting applications is 4 January 2021. See the grant criteria and application forms
