Shoppers got a head start on their Christmas shopping on Sunday at Farnham’s first West Street Craft Market.
The market was one of a series of events planned for October Craft Month which celebrates Farnham being England’s First World Craft Town.
Around 38 stallholders sold a range of handmade goods ranging from contemporary jewellery to textiles and ceramics.
Councillor Alan Earwaker, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “Despite a wet and gloomy start to the day, the sun came out in time for the start of the market. The outdoor market was very well attended and brought people into the town. There was a lovely, vibrant atmosphere and we received lots of positive feedback from the traders.
“By holding the market in West Street, people were able to enjoy a traffic free environment plus there was space to lay out the market so that people could maintain a safe social distance. I hope this market will be the first of many such events.”
The West Street Craft Market was held in association with ACVR Events and was limited in numbers so as to support COVID-19 management and social distancing requirements.
