Easter Bloomin’ Kids Gardening workshops run by Farnham Town Council will be given a spring boost by the Waitrose community funding scheme ‘Community Matters’ at its Farnham store.

Throughout March, shoppers will be able to place their green tokens in the collection box and vote to raise money for the running of the Easter Bloomin’ Kids workshops. The workshops will take place on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 April.

Councillor Stephen Hill, Lead Member for Community Enhancement says “We are delighted that Easter Bloomin’ Kids has been chosen to be part of the Waitrose Community funding scheme alongside other worthy causes. Being able to offer these free popular workshops for the fourth-year running will be a great opportunity for our next generation of Farnham gardeners.”

Farnham Town Council first introduced the Bloomin’ Kids gardening workshops as a way to involve younger residents in Farnham in Bloom. The workshops are completely free to attend and children get to take away something they have planted so that their interest and curiosity can continue to germinate.

Bloomin’ Kids is part of Farnham in Bloom, which is sponsored by the Farnham Institute Charity. The workshops are led by Farnham Town Council and members of the Farnham in Bloom community group. Booking for the workshops opens on 11 March with full details on this website.
