Music from Surrey favourites, Vic Cracknell’s Swing Band will fill Farnham Vineyard Church on Sunday 24 February when the band performs as part of Music in the Vineyard, the series of free concerts put on by Farnham Town Council.

Vic and his band will treat their audience to classics from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Elvis Presley as well as hits from modern singers such as Michael Bublé and Harry Connick Junior. The show takes place at the Vineyard Church on Union Road from 3pm to 5pm and there is free parking at nearby Central car park.

“Sunday 24th will be a busy day in Farnham as we have the farmers’ market throughout the morning followed by the show in the afternoon. We encourage people to bring along pastries and savouries from the farmers’ market to make up a perfect portable afternoon tea or to buy some wonderful cakes and refreshments at the concert,” says Councillor Jill Hargreaves, Lead Member for Tourism and Events.

The monthly farmers’ market takes place at Central car park in Farnham from 10am to 1.30pm. Packed with stallholders selling locally grown, seasonal and largely organic fruit, vegetables and meat as well as fish, eggs and dairy produce, shoppers will also find locally made products such as cakes and artisan breads, jams and preserves, drinks and cooking sauces.

Refreshments including hot drinks are available to buy both at the farmers’ market and Music in the Vineyard. Money raised from refreshments sold at Music in the Vineyard along with a raffle will go towards the Mayor’s charity Garner’s Goes Bananas.

Music in the Vineyard is free to attend thanks to sponsorship from local businesses. The February show is sponsored by Bourne Wood Manor Care Home.

Farnham Town Council organises the Music in the Vineyard concerts each month from late winter to early spring to encourage people into town at what can be a chilly and damp time
