Grants for local projects

Farnham Town Council is inviting applications from local groups that would like to bid for money from the 2019/20 Community Grant pot.

More than £20,000 is available for projects that will promote the environment and/or community life in Farnham out of a total grant budget of £75,000 for community organisations in Farnham.

The community grant initiative is designed to provide funding for youth projects, community buildings, heritage projects, leisure facilities and much more.

Commenting on the projects that received money in the 2018/19 financial year, Leader of the Council, Councillor Cockburn says: “I would like to encourage applications from any not for profit group that has a project in mind which fulfils the grant criteria. Last year, we received around 30 applications for a variety of projects that enhance our community.

“Successful applications have benefitted many local people and places. There have been training projects delivering new skills, environmental schemes including bat-monitoring in Tice’s Meadow and a host of conservation projects, all designed to preserve our heritage for future generations.”

Grants are awarded for specific costs rather than general funding. The project that is being considered for funding must be readily available to the community of Farnham.

See the Community Grants page for the full grant criteria and an application form.

The closing date for applications is 3 December. The applications will be considered in January and grants will be sent to successful applicants in April/May 2019.
