September is the time to celebrate food and drink in Farnham and at this month’s Farmers’ Market the focus will be on fresh, local produce.
Shoppers will be able to enjoy great food and support their local farmers and food producers at the Farmers’ Market on Sunday 23 September from 10am to 1.30pm in Central Car Park, off Victoria Road, Farnham.
Cllr Jill Hargreaves, Lead Member for Events and Tourism says: “We are lucky in Farnham to be surrounded by numerous excellent farmers and food producers and we look forward to welcoming many of them to our Farmers’ Market each month. As a town, we have come to expect and enjoy a great choice of locally produced, high quality food and drink all year round. As we move towards autumn, there will be some delicious new flavours to enjoy so please do come along and support the Farmers’ Market.”
The market features dozens of stalls including fresh organic meat, fish and fruit, as well as eggs and dairy products and prepared goods such as breads, cakes and pies, condiments, preserves, muesli, juices and alcoholic drinks. There are also non-food items such as flowers, plants and crafts.
Each month a different local charity runs a tea tent, selling refreshments and cakes. This month, The Spire Church is hosting the tent.
Farnham’s annual celebration of food and drink will culminate in the Farnham Food and Drink Festival in the town centre on Sunday 30 September. See the Food and Drink Festival pages for more information.
