The classic sounds of swing come to the Vineyard Church, Union Road on Sunday 25 February when Music in the Vineyard, the season of free music concerts, continues in Farnham. The show follows the monthly Farmers’ Market which takes place earlier in the day, also in Farnham town centre.

Councillor Jill Hargreaves, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “What better way to round off a weekend than to first pick up some fresh seasonal produce from the Farmers’ Market for a delicious Sunday roast and then to stop off and watch live music for free at Music in the Vineyard.”

This is the second Music in the Vineyard event of 2018. The programme is organised by Farnham Town Council and hosted by the Vineyard Church as a way of offering a free indoor event to bring local people together during the wintery weather.

Vic Cracknell’s Swing Band will perform an afternoon of popular swing tunes interspersed with Latin, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll classics from 3-5pm. Hot drinks and homemade cakes will be on sale from the charity refreshment stall, which will be hosted by Brightwells Gostrey Centre.

At the February Farmers’ Market, which takes place at Central Car Park from 10am to 1.30pm there will be some new stallholders. Newcomers include Barties Sussex Faire selling jams, chutneys, mustard and marmalades, Runwick Roastery selling coffee and coffee beans and Archers and Trinder selling cakes and some savouries.

There will also be fresh, seasonal local produce including organic meat and poultry, fish, local dairy produce and baked goods plus drinks, confectionery, preserves, plants and flowers. Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society will be providing teas and coffees for shoppers.

On 25 March, the third and final Music in the Vineyard for 2018 will take place along with the March Farmers’ Market.
