Farnham Town Council has a treat in store for fans of the summertime programme of Music in the Meadow.

By popular request, the Sunday afternoon live music concerts will return for two pilot performances at the Vineyard Church in Union Road. The concerts will coincide with the monthly Farmers’ Market in January and February.

The first concert will take place between 3pm and 5pm on Sunday 22 January. Farnham Big Band will provide the music and there will be a charity tea and cake stall.

Councillor Jill Hargreaves, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “To help banish the winter blues, we have responded to residents’ requests and will start 2017 on a musical note. As with the outdoor concerts, people will be able to come and go as they please or can stay for the full performance. Music in the Vineyard is free of charge and promises to be an enjoyable way to spend a cold January afternoon.”

The second and final winter concert will be held on Sunday 26 February at the Vineyard Church. At this stage, Farnham Town Council will review the event to see if there may be enough interest to hold further concerts in 2018.
