Farnham Town Council has given its thanks to two local businesses for their support in helping make this year’s summer events programme a resounding success.

Generous contributions from Principal sponsors Kidd Rapinet and Shaw Gibbs meant that the council was able to organise a Walking Festival, Sustainability Festival, Proms & Pop in the Park and Music in the Meadow. Having two Principal sponsors not only enabled most of the events programme to be funded by sponsorship but it also meant additional events could be arranged such as Farnham Folk Day and World Music Day.

Councillor Kika Mirylees, Lead Member for Community and Culture says: “I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to Kidd Rapinet and Shaw Gibbs for their invaluable support. Their sponsorship allowed us to put on a full programme of family-friendly events and cultural celebrations, which brought people together in Farnham’s true community spirit.”

Kidd Rapinet has been a supporter of the summer programme for several years. Managing Partner Andrew Kingston says: “Supporting Farnham’s Summer Events Programme is part of our ongoing commitment to the community we serve. We believe in the importance of giving back, and being involved in such a successful programme reflects our dedication to the town. The extended Folk Day was a particular highlight, and we’re proud to have helped bring this event to life.”

Shaw Gibbs, represented by Managing Partner, Sharmini Woodings shared their enthusiasm for being a first time Principal sponsor and said: “Supporting the programme was a wonderful way for us to be involved in the local community and shows our commitment to our social responsibilities. It has been a joy to attend the events and meet residents and visitors alike. World Music Day showcased an incredible diversity of talent, and we’re honoured to have supported such a wonderful celebration.”

Despite this summer’s changeable weather, the events were well supported and brought people into the town. The events programme also provided opportunities for local charities to host a refreshments tent so they could raise their community profile and fundraise. Two such charities include 40Degreez and Charlie’s Promise which are being supported by the Mayor of Farnham during his Mayoral year.

Farnham Town Council is grateful for the continued support from Kidd Rapinet, Shaw Gibbs, and all other sponsors who help make Farnham an even better place to live and visit.
