A feast for the senses

Picture of many food stalls and lots of people around them

Farnham Food & Drink Festival is returning to the heart of Farnham on Sunday 29 September from 10am to 4pm, offering a feast of culinary delights for food lovers and families alike. Known for its lively atmosphere and the infamous Chilli Eating Competition, this year’s festival promises even more excitement with over 100 stalls showcasing a delicious array of food and drink.

From traditional British favourites to exotic international dishes, there’s something to suit every palate. The festival’s diverse food stalls will serve up a rich selection of mouthwatering dishes, ensuring that all tastes and preferences are catered for.

Visitors will find the Cookery Demonstration Stage located on The Borough and is where a stellar lineup of expert chefs will showcase their skills throughout the day.

Councillor Kika Mirylees, Lead Member for Community and Culture, says: “I’m really looking forward to seeing the Emmy-nominated chef and food writer Ching-He Huang in action. She’ll be demonstrating how to cook a mildly spicy and sweet Chinese Chicken Curry from her latest book Wok For Less. I’m also excited to watch Ben Piette, chef at Maison Restaurant in Wrecclesham, create his venison dish with seasonal produce.”

Other talented chefs featured include Lorna’s Indian Kitchen, Henry Hampshire, and Petite Patisserie, who will each take to the stage to share their culinary tips, tricks, and recipes.

For those with an interest in beverages, the Drinks Demonstration Stage in the beautiful setting of the Bush Hotel Courtyard will offer live drink demonstrations and tastings. Visitors can sip on cocktails, sample craft beers, or discover new wines while enjoying live music from local artists.

In addition to food and drink, the festival will feature plenty of family-friendly entertainment, including an Acoustic Music Stage at the top of Castle Street, with performances by local musicians and bands. The dynamic Farnham Taiko Drummers will perform at the top of Downing Street and are not to be missed!

The Farnham Food & Drink Festival is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Bush Hotel Farnham and Kidd Rapinet, with in-kind contributions from The Gorge Farnham Café. Their sponsorship enables Farnham Town Council to organise this popular annual event, providing a fantastic day out for the whole community.
