Farnham people enjoyed the perfect end to the town’s carnival weekend at Proms & Pop in the Park on Sunday.

The family-friendly event was organised by Farnham Town Council and thanks to sponsorship from Kidd Rapinet, Shaw Gibbs and Leightons Opticians, there was a top line up of free entertainment.

Commenting, Councillor Kika Mirylees, Lead Member for Community and Culture says: “The afternoon got off to a great start with a performance by young people from Farnham Music and Drama. This was followed by sets from the ATrain and Late to the Party who did a brilliant job of getting people in the mood for the second half of the show.

“Mid-afternoon we welcomed Woking Wind Orchestra for an uplifting performance which included music from The Lion King, Encanto and The Greatest Showman, and plenty of flag-waving! We ended the afternoon by bringing Glastonbury to Farnham with Dua Live which was a tribute to pop sensation Dua Lipa.”

As well as music, there was a refreshment stands and a charity tea tent hosted by Woodlarks. There was also additional side entertainment for younger concertgoers which included a circus skills area, a selection of rides and a bubbleologist who enchanted little ones with bubbles of all shapes and sizes!

Music in the Meadow returns to Gostrey Meadow on Sunday from 3 to 5pm and the Young Artists’ Showcase is on Sunday 28 July from 1 to 5pm.
