The Missy Nelson band received a warm welcome on Sunday at the first of this year’s Music in the Meadow concerts.
To the delight of the crowd, the four-piece band played a variety of songs which appealed to all musical tastes.
Councillor Kika Mirylees, Lead Member for Community and Culture says: “It was great to see so many people turning out for the first Music in the Meadow. We have a marvellous line-up this year which includes both established and up and coming musicians. There are also some special, extended concerts planned which include Farnham Folk Day, Young Artists’ Showcase and World Music Day. There is always great enthusiasm for our Music in the Meadow concerts so please do come along and experience it for yourself!”
The charity tea tent was run by 40Degreez which is one of the charities being supported by the Mayor of Farnham. Music in the Meadow is free to the public, thanks to generous support from Summer in Farnham’s Principal Sponsors Kidd Rapinet and Shaw Gibbs.
The concerts take place every Sunday throughout the summer from 3-5pm at Gostrey Meadow. The Vic Cracknell Swing Band is the next act on 2 June followed by Farnham Big Band on 9 June. See the full programme.
