Warmer weather may have been slow to arrive this year but that hasn’t stopped Farnham Town Council from going ahead with the exciting launch of its summer season of events with joint principal sponsors Kidd Rapinet and Shaw Gibbs.

The summer programme began on 11 May with the start of the Farnham Walking Festival. This will be followed by the Sustainability Festival on 19 May, the return of Music in the Meadow on 26 May, a D-Day celebration, and Proms & Pop in the Park. The line-up of vibrant community events promises to bring together residents and visitors alike for lots of free, fun, family entertainment.

Councillor Kika Mirylees, Lead Member for Community says: “We are delighted to partner with Kidd Rapinet for the seventh year running and to welcome Shaw Gibbs as joint principal sponsor. By having two sponsors on board, we have been able to add some new events to the calendar. I am really looking forward to this year’s Music in the Meadow which will feature three extended concerts. We have Farnham Folk Day on 23 June, Young Artists’ Showcase on 28 July and World Music Day on 11 August. All three start at the earlier time of 1pm and promise to be a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.”

Andrew Kingston from Kidd Rapinet says: “As longstanding members of the Farnham community, we are honoured to once again be a key player in bringing this wonderful programme of events to local people. We never tire of seeing people enjoying themselves and are proud to be involved in an initiative that has such a positive impact on the community and brings joy and connection to our town.”

New principal sponsor Shaw Gibbs, represented by Partner, Sharmini Wooding adds: “Our office in Union Road overlooks Gostrey Meadow which is the venue for most of the summer events. We are delighted to support the Farnham community in bringing them a fun and music filled summer, focused at bringing people of all ages together. As accountants and business advisers, we are committed to investing in the local economy, so being associated with an initiative that brings people into Farnham and supports local businesses complements our values.”

Representatives from Kidd Rapinet and Shaw Gibbs will be present at many of the summer events, and they look forward to meeting many members of the community.
