Gin Festival fizzed with excitement!

Limongino seemed to be the drink that everybody was talking about at the 2023 Gin and Fizz Festival on Saturday (2 September). The zesty, lemon gin liqueur produced by English Spirit was just one of the many varieties of gin and wine available for people to discover at this year’s event.

Throughout the afternoon and evening sessions, four acoustic acts entertained guests. The musicians included Jim Cozens, Connor McDevitt, Jack Mason, and Jon Knight who charmed the audience with his Spanish guitar.

Inside, the atmosphere was party like thanks to a lively hour-long performance by Young Elton. The ‘UK’s finest Elton John tribute’ played hits from the 70s through to more recent songs and was described in comments on social media as ‘awesome’.

Councillor Kika Mirylees, Lead Member for Community says: “Many of our events are town centre focused so it was great to be able to host the Gin and Fizz Festival at The Kiln in Badshot Lea. The decorations and festoon lighting transformed the venue and really added to the vibrant festival atmosphere.

“As well as being able to try new flavours of gin, festival goers found out more about their tipple of choice in the talks tent. Several of the distillers gave a really interesting insight into their gin-making journey, the history of their product and details about how they make it.”

Everybody who attended received a souvenir glass. The event was made possible thanks to sponsorship from Swish Fibre, and the trustees at Badshot Lea Village Hall.
