The Mayor of Farnham, Councillor Alan Earwaker renewed his promises of office for the third year running at Sunday’s Civic Service.

The current Mayor is the only councillor in the history of Farnham Town Council to have held the Mayoral office for three consecutive years.

During this new Mayoral year, Councillor Earwaker has chosen a theme of ‘working together with the community, supporting young people’. In honour of his mission, the Mayor invited school representatives, community organisations and individuals who help deliver support to the community to be a part of his service. Guests also included Brigadier Roger Hood QVRM TD DL and his wife Belinda, Mayors from neighbouring towns and boroughs and councillors.

Councillor Alan Earwaker says: “It is an immense privilege to be serving the community of Farnham for a third year. Following the start of a new term of office in May, the council and staff team continue to work together to be the voice for Farnham and to ensure we can meet the varying needs within the community. I am looking forward to seeing more of the fantastic work that our community does to make Farnham the place it is.”

The service was held at St Andrew’s Church in Farnham and was led by the Reverend David Uffindell. Farnham, Fleet & Aldershot Sea Cadet Unit joined in with a special prayer for Sea Sunday, a reading and hymn, dedicated to seafarers around the world.

After the service guests gathered in the playground of St Andrew’s Infant School where they enjoyed refreshments served by the Sea Cadets.
