Farnham Town Council would like to hear about more local heroes as the deadline approaches for nominations to the Services to Farnham Awards.

The Mayor of Farnham, Councillor Alan Earwaker, explains: “The Services to Farnham Awards are about thanking people for providing a crucial or outstanding service to Farnham’s community. We have run the awards for many years, but we know there are even more local people out there working tirelessly to make Farnham the great place that it is. If you know someone who deserves an award, please get in touch by 5 December.”

Information about the awards, including the nomination form, is on Farnham Town Council’s website or is available by contacting the council directly.

“We have previously presented awards to people who have dedicated their time to fundraising, running support initiatives for people in need, and volunteers who have championed aspects of Farnham life, such as local history, the sports scene and artistic activities. People support the community in diverse ways so please nominate if you have someone in mind,” says the Mayor.

Each winner is awarded a medal, presented to them by the Mayor of Farnham at a ceremony at the Town Hall in South Street. The awards are supported by Tindle News Group.

Each nomination requires a seconder and must include the reasons for the nomination. After the closing date, the judging panel selects the winners who will be notified and invited to receive their medal at a ceremony in late February.
