There is still time to apply for a community grant from Farnham Town Council but time is running out.
“Farnham Town Council provides community grants of up to £2,000 per organisation each year. If your community group or voluntary organisation has not applied before, you will find all the information you need on our website. The application deadline is 12pm on Wednesday 7 December so don’t delay,” says the Mayor of Farnham, Councillor Alan Earwaker.
Applications from previous grant recipients are also welcomed. Only one application can be made by an organisation each year but they can be for schemes requiring up to three years of funding.
“The grant fund is for one-off projects or schemes that promote community life or the environment for people living in Farnham, so if that applies to an activity you are involved in, make sure you apply,” says the Mayor.
Previous successful applications include projects for young people, leisure sport and cultural activities, community buildings, environmental projects, play projects, activities and help for older people and people with disabilities. The scope of the community grants scheme is broad so the Town Council welcomes any application that fulfils its requirements.
Full details of how to apply, including the application form is on the Farnham Town Council website. Applications are considered in January, decisions are made by the Council around February or early March and grant payments are made by May.
