Farnham Design Statement Review

Front cover of Farnham Design Statement

Farnham Town Council is consulting on the final draft of its revised Farnham Design Statement.

The previous Farnham Design Statement was adopted by the borough in 2010 and has been consistently used in the determination of all planning applications within Farnham. It has a good record of success in defending local decisions at appeal.

The latest final draft has been modified, following discussions with planning policy officers at Waverley Borough Council.

Councillor Carole Cockburn who led the review of the design statement says: “It is essential that this reviewed document is acceptable to the borough and adopted as a material consideration very soon. It is for this reason that Farnham Town Council has modified the final draft in accordance with Waverley’s advice and is putting it out to further consultation. Many of the modifications are relatively minor in detail but important in planning terms. People are free to comment on as little or as much of the document as they wish.”

Take part in the consultation survey or call 01252 712667 to request a paper copy. The deadline for responding is Monday 4 July.
