Farnham Town Council has curated a collection of favourite walks for this month’s celebration of walking.
The month-long walking festival has been adapted to ensure people can enjoy the nation’s newfound love of walking whilst maintaining a safe social distance from other walkers.
Councillor Alan Earwaker, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “Instead of guided group walks, this year’s festival is a celebration of the walks people have discovered and enjoyed during lockdown. Farnham’s keen band of walkers have contributed their best local walk for others to enjoy. We’re also sharing some old favourites such as our self-guided heritage trail and tree tours.
“The walks are suitable for all abilities and cover all areas of Farnham and because they are self-guided, you can enjoy them at any time of the day so whether you are an early riser and fancy seeing the sun rise over the Bourne or prefer to see the sun set from the top of Folly Hill, there is a walk for you. All we ask is that you stick to the paths so as to avoid wildlife, keep dogs under control and please take your litter home.”
