Lord Lieutenant joins volunteers

Members of Farnham in Bloom received a helping hand from the Lord Lieutenant of Surrey when he visited Farnham on Thursday.

Michael More-Molyneux met volunteers and helped plant winter bedding plants in the Madge Green memorial bed which is located in the Boots courtyard between Central car park and West Street.

John Martin has been volunteering for Farnham in Bloom for four years and said: “The Lord Lieutenant rolled up his sleeves and helped us plant a lovely display of winter pansies. He was very interested to hear how we managed to keep Farnham looking lovely this year and how we coped with the challenges presented to us by the pandemic. He thanked us for volunteering and was very appreciative of our efforts.”

Anybody who is interested in becoming a Farnham in Bloom volunteer should contact Stacey Wills at Farnham Town Council.
