Sponsors of the 2019 Gin Festival have sampled some of the 150 types of gin that it is estimated will be available at this year’s festival on 13 and 14 September.

The launch of the Gin Festival was held at The Castle Inn which is partnering with Farnham Town Council to bring a festival that will appeal equally to gin connoisseurs and those who are new to the tipple.

Fifteen of the country’s leading gin distillers will be at the festival which will be held at the Farnham Maltings. There will be masterclasses from experts in the industry, live music, food and a great atmosphere.

TaylorCocks accountants, now known as The TC Group, is a gold sponsor of the event. Rob Browning was at the launch and said: “As one of the area’s largest accountancy firms, we are delighted to be sponsoring the Gin Festival and are looking forward to meeting people from the local community in a relaxed and social setting.

“We’ve enjoyed trying some of the varieties of gin that will be available at the festival and can guarantee festival goers will not be disappointed by what’s on offer!”

The Gin Festival marks the start of over two weeks of food-related events in Farnham which will culminate with the Food Festival on 29 September.

Councillor Paula Dunsmore, Deputy Mayor of Farnham says: “We are seeing a keen interest in this year’s Gin Festival and tickets are selling fast. Entry costs £12 and this includes a complimentary mixer drink and souvenir Gin Festival glass. Tickets for the optional masterclasses are an additional £10.”

Tickets are available from the Farnham Maltings. Further information about the Gin Festival and the masterclasses can be found at www.farnham.gov.uk.
