Parents, carers and grandparents are invited to introduce their children to the pleasures of gardening this half term with Farnham Town Council’s free gardening workshops.
The workshops will be held from 10am to 12noon and 2pm to 4pm on Thursday 25 October at West Street greenhouses.
The children will sow broad beans which they will be able to take away and grow at home. They will also help to plant up tubs of hyacinth bulbs and Tête á Têtedaffodils. These will be looked after by Farnham Town Council’s outside team and then sold at the Farnham in Bloom winter celebration on 16 December at the Farnham Vineyard.
Councillor Stephen Hill, Lead Member for Community Enhancement says: “Children have so much fun at our Bloomin’ Kids Gardening Workshops. They’ll be able to take part in a variety of gardening themed activities and there will even be time for some arts and crafts. The sessions are very popular, and places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Reserve a place at the Gardening Workshop, which is a Farnham in Bloom initiative that is sponsored by Specsavers in Farnham. The workshops are best suited to children aged five and over.
