Gin Festival is a sell out

The nation’s love affair with gin has most definitely reached Farnham with tickets for the first ever Gin Festival selling out in just three days.

The gin festival, which will take place in September as part of Farnham Town Council’s Feast of Food was launched at The Wheatsheaf Pub on 21 July.

Councillor Jill Hargreaves, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “We have been quite amazed by the reaction to the Gin Festival. The Festival will be very much about local gin for local people. With such a great emphasis on ‘local’, I am delighted that The Wheatsheaf has come on board as the event sponsor.”

The Gin Festival will take place on 16 September at the Farnham Maltings. Gin enthusiasts will be able to meet gin distillers in person, take part in an optional masterclass, hear experts talk about gin, sample interesting flavours of gin, try gin cocktails, enjoy live music and eat some great food. Everybody who attends will receive a free souvenir glass, a mixer drink and a guide about how best to serve and enjoy gin.

More information about Feast of Food and the Gin Festival will soon be available on the website.
