This Sunday’s Farmers’ Market will have all the ingredients sons and daughters need to cook up a very special Mothering Sunday meal.
There will be a large choice of succulent cuts of locally reared meat and seasonal fresh vegetables for a traditional Sunday roast as well as freshly caught fish for a lighter alternative.
Options for dessert will include creamy Dylan’s ice cream bursting with the flavour of seasonal fruit, vegan carrot cake and a selection of decadent chocolates.
Shoppers will be able to pick the perfect liquid accompaniment for each course with choices ranging from tangy apple juice or cider to locally distilled gin from Black Cat Distillery and delicious coffee beans from The Roasted Bean Company.
Councillor Jill Hargreaves, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “As well as celebrating Mother’s Day, having altered the clocks, it will be lovely to start enjoying the longer days of spring/summer. To mark the start of the gardening season, we will be welcoming back R C Court who will be selling herbaceous perennials, bedding and vegetable plants and shrubs. The change in season also means it will not be long before we are enjoying some tasty new seasonal treats such as asparagus and crab.”
The charity tea tent will be hosted by the Friends of the Ridgeway School and music will be provided by Patrick Webber. The Farnham Lions will be present and selling tickets for their Easter Eggstravaganza in aid of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.
The Farnham Farmers’ Market is on Sunday 26 March and will be held in Central car park between 10am and 1.30pm.
