Join in the celebrations to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday year by coming to Farnham’s first Spring Festival, held at Gostrey Meadow on Sunday 29 May.

Beginning at 2pm and with activities throughout the afternoon, the festival is free to attend and continues into the early evening with live music from 5-7pm. Local car parks will be open as usual and are free on Sundays.

“The Spring Festival will be a great day out for Farnham residents and visitors to our wonderful town,” says Councillor Jill Hargreaves, Lead Member for Tourism and Events. “It is also a lovely opportunity to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday year.”

Councillor Hargreaves continues: “What better way to make the most of the Spring Bank Holiday weekend than coming to Gostrey Meadow for what will be the first of many excellent community events this summer. Please do bring a picnic or choose from the selection of tasty food and drink stalls then stay for the afternoon. As well as all our stallholders, I would particularly like to thank our sponsors, local businesses Trueman & Grundy and Anytime Fitness for their generous support of the festival.”

Activities will start with a workshop from the Rock Choir followed by the chance for visitors to improve their football skills with Aldershot Town Football Club. Later, festival goers can try their hand at taiko drumming with Farnham Taiko Club and join The Dance Movement’s street dance workshop. Parents with babies are invited to bring their baby sling and take part in a ‘sling groove’ session with The Dance Movement.

Among the food and drink stalls are Thai Lotusland, Windsor Creperie, Ding Dong Desserts, the Princess Royal pub and restaurant, Beerfeast Limited and Farnham Local Food. Other local businesses and organisations will also be hosting stalls.
