Italy comes to Farnham

Shoppers treated themselves to authentic, tasty treats at Friday’s Italian market.

The market was organised by Farnham Town Council following the success of the inaugural market held last year in September.

Produce was sourced by the market organisers Italia In Piazza from several regions in Italy and included a range of cheeses, several varieties of olive, bread and sauces.

Farnham Town Clerk, Iain Lynch says: “Throughout the year we hold a number of different types of food market and they always prove to be popular. Markets are a great way to attract people into town and for retailers to benefit from the increased number of shoppers.”

Speaking after the market, Simon Faro from Italia in Piazza said: “Friday marked our second visit to Farnham in seven months and this year proved as popular as last year. We attracted new customers and all the stallholders were made to feel very welcome. All our stallholders enjoy talking and exchanging recipes with customers and we look forward to returning to Farnham.”

The Italian market will return to Farnham later this year on 11 September, which marks the start of the Farnham Food Festival 2015.
