Spruce up Farnham

Spring is in the air and Farnham Town Council is organising a spring clean of the town.

In a joint effort to clean up litter, community groups, schools, businesses and individuals are invited to get involved in the first of this year’s Big Pick Weeks.

Litter picks can take place on any day between 22 and 29 March. Once a date has been agreed, organisers should contact Farnham Town Council so that arrangements can be made in advance to pick up the collected rubbish. Farnham Town Council can also provide groups with litter picking tools and gloves.

Councillor Stephen Hill, Lead Member for Community Enhancement says: “Farnham Town Council’s Big Pick Week provides a great opportunity to get together with some friends or colleagues to litter pick an area that has become untidy over the winter. Although Waverley Borough Council is responsible for street cleaning, there are always areas in any town that can benefit from a little extra care and attention. Big Pick Week will give a really good start to our preparations for this year’s Farnham in Bloom. Please do send us photos of your litter picking event so we can add them to our website.”

Extra rubbish sacks can be collected at any time during Big Pick Week from Farnham Town Council offices or Squire’s Garden Centre.
