Young adults from Farnham’s Post 19 Group have been helping the Mayor of Farnham, Cllr Jeremy Ricketts to spread the word about his charity concert.
Songs from Stage and Screen promises to provide an evening of light-hearted musical entertainment. Vocal Point and Voices Together Community Choir, conducted by Valerie Hoppé MBE, will perform music and songs from musicals that include Les Misérables, My Fair Lady and Carousel.
All the money raised from the concert will go towards furthering the excellent work of the Post 19 group. This is a community-based programme aimed at young adults with learning difficulties. The group aims to encourage students to play a full and active life in their local communities and has contributed greatly to initiatives such as Farnham in Bloom.
Tickets cost £20 and include a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. There will also be a silent auction that includes some fantastic prizes such as a painting by Charles Bone FRSA, a ride with Sir Ray Tindle CBE, DL in his Vintage 1928 Austin 12 followed by lunch, a champagne afternoon tea at the Bush Hotel plus lots more.
The musical extravaganza will be held in the performing arts centre at Frensham Heights School and will start with a reception at 7pm followed by the concert at 7.30pm. A shuttle bus will be available to transport people who cannot drive or who will find it difficult to get to the venue.
You can reserve tickets or buy them direct from the Mayor’s office or call 01252 712667.
