Visitors to the Farmers’ Market on Sunday 25 January are in for a special treat. In support of Farmhouse Breakfast Week, on presentation of the voucher in this week’s Farnham Herald, shoppers will be able to buy one delicious breakfast and to get a second one of the same type free.
Four local food producers are taking part in the promotion. White Lodge Farm will be offering a traditional farmhouse breakfast in a bun, Imbhams Farm Granary will be serving muesli or hot porridge in a pot, Catch will be cooking kedgeree and Hunts Hill Farm will providing bacon rolls. Tea and coffee will be available from the charity refreshment tent with proceeds going to Brightwells Gostrey Centre.
Councillor Jill Hargreaves, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “It has long been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I’m sure that the aroma of sweet cured bacon and sizzling sausages will be enough to tempt most people into indulging in a tasty breakfast treat this Sunday. Non-meat eaters and the health conscious will be able to discover what makes the grains from Imbhams Farm Granary so special or enjoy some freshly cooked fish in a dish of kedgeree cooked by Catch.
As well as breakfast, food lovers will be able to buy a range of quality, locally grown and fresh ingredients, store cupboard produce and hand crafted items. The Market will be held in Central car park from 10am to 1.30pm.
