Charity concert for Post 19

‘Songs from Stage and Screen’ is the theme of a charity concert being held this February and hosted by the Mayor of Farnham, Cllr Jeremy Ricketts.

The musical extravaganza will be held on Saturday 21 February at 7.30pm in the performing arts centre at Frensham Heights School. The concert will feature Vocal Point chamber choir and the Voices Together Community Choir. The concert will be conducted by Valerie Hoppé MBE who is the director of both choirs and will include music and songs from Les Miserables, My Fair Lady and Carousel.

Cllr Jeremy Ricketts, Mayor of Farnham says: “Music lovers are in for a real treat. The choirs are magnificent and the music they will be singing will appeal to all tastes – it is going to be a really joyful evening. The money raised by the concert will go towards furthering the excellent work of the Farnham-based Post 19 Group. This is a community-based programme aimed at young adults with learning difficulties. They do a fantastic job encouraging students to work and participate in their local communities. The concert is being held in the beautiful theatre at Frensham Heights School and it would be wonderful to see it filled to capacity for this very worthwhile fundraising event.”

Tickets cost £20 and the price includes a complimentary glass of sparkling wine on arrival. Tickets can be reserved or bought by emailing the Mayor’s office or   calling 01252 712667.
