Residents and people with an interest in the town have until 5pm on Monday 15 December to influence Farnham’s future.

In what is seen by many as the most important consultation ever to be undertaken by Farnham Town Council, views are being sought on the draft neighbourhood plan. The plan includes proposals that will influence the development of every single one of the elements that makes Farnham distinctive, including the location of new homes.

Councillor Carole Cockburn, Lead Member of Farnham’s Infrastructure Planning Group says: “Housing and housing numbers are a regular topic of debate at both a national and regional level. Although it cannot determine how many houses are built in Farnham, the neighbourhood plan can influence the location and design of these new homes.

“The neighbourhood plan gives people a voice on the future of their home town, and by sparing just 15-20 minutes to complete the questionnaire, local electors can make sure the plan reflects what they want for Farnham. As an added incentive, everybody who completes a questionnaire will be entered into a draw to win an Apple iPad Mini.”

The neighbourhood plan team will be available to answer any last minute questions at the Christmas Market on Sunday 14 December. Supporting information about the draft neighbourhood plan and the questionnaire can be found on our neighbourhood plan pages.
