The last of Farnham’s free open-air concerts for 2014 will take place this Sunday at Gostrey Meadow.

Farnham Big Band is the town’s very own 17-piece jazz orchestra and they will perform between 3 and 5pm. Farnham Foodbank will host the charity tea tent.

Cllr Jill Hargreaves, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “More than 5,000 people have enjoyed this year’s series of Music in the Meadow concerts. We have seen lots of fresh, new talent including some excellent performances by Famous in Farnham at last week’s concert. All musicians have performed to a very high standard and there has been music to suit all tastes including acoustic rock and vocal harmony to a showcase of local talent and a wind orchestra.

“Although the weather was a little wet and cool on a couple of occasions, we also enjoyed some glorious summer afternoons. I am extremely grateful to all the local businesses that sponsored the concerts and to Savills Farnham for being our main sponsor. I look forward to next year’s concerts!”

Any local musicians interested in being part of next year’s line up or local businesses wanting to be involved in sponsoring a concert should email to register their interest and to find out more information.
