Farmers’ Market summer treats

Red, orange and yellow tomatoes

June marks the start of picnic season and this month’s Farmers’ Market will be offering some delicious items for summer picnic hampers.

Salads, strawberries, raspberries and ice cream will be available as well as barbeque items such as meat, fish and vegetables for kebabs. The Market will be held on Sunday 22 June between 10am and 1.30pm in Central Car Park.

Lead Member for Tourism and Events, Cllr Jill Hargreaves says: “I was so pleased to hear that the stand promoting farmers’ markets at last month’s Surrey County Show won second prize for ‘Best Trade Stand’. I think you only have to visit our market to see what beautiful displays the fresh, natural produce makes – and the best thing, is that it is all available to buy! I encourage anybody who has not been to the Market for a while, or who is coming into Farnham for the afternoon’s Music in the Meadow concert, to pop in and pick up some tasty treats for the afternoon.”

The charity refreshment tent will be hosted by Farnham’s Woodlarks Campsite, which offers camping for disabled people.

Farnham Farmers’ Market is held on the fourth Sunday of every month. If you would like to find out more about booking a pitch or would like more information about the Market, please contact Ginny Gordon at Farnham Town Council on 01252 712667 or email ginny.gordon@farnham.gov.uk.
