The accessibility of West Street cemetery has been greatly improved following the completion of Farnham Town Council’s programme of works to resurface cemetery footpaths.
The existing pathways have been edged and resurfaced and a new path has been laid by the Garden of Reflection.
Cllr Carole Cockburn, Lead Member for Cemeteries says: “As part of the ongoing maintenance of our cemeteries, we have spent £20,000 on improving the pathways. The paths are now much more even making it easier for people to move around the cemetery whether they be on foot, in a wheelchair or being pushed in a pram.”
The footpaths at Badshot Lea and Hale cemeteries have already been upgraded. Work to improve the paths at Green Lane cemetery will take place later this year.
