RSPB Farnham Heath

Farnham Heath is part of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and an example of heathland restoration.

The RSPB been working to restore this habitat at Farnham Heath since 2004 by converting the conifer plantations into heath and acid grassland and encouraging its special wildlife to return.

Opening times

The reserve is open at all times. The reserve is next door to the Rural Life Centre and visitors are welcome to use their car park, toilets and tea room. The Centre is open Wed–Fri and Sundays all year. It is also open on Saturdays from April to September. The car park opens at 9.30 am on weekdays and 10.30 am on weekends; the tea room opens at 11 am. There are parking lay-bys on adjacent roads outside those hours.

Entry is free, but donations to help with the continuation of work are welcome.

A limited programme of eight-nine events each year at present, including bug hunts and other family activities.
